After a lesson, Tuton writes it up for you: what you covered, what the student did well, the mistakes worth fixing with corrections, the new words, and what to work on next. To do that it records the lesson audio and transcribes it. A report hour is one hour of lessons written up this way, counted on lesson time, so a 45-minute lesson uses 45 minutes. Your first 2 report hours are free, once per account, trial included. If you're on Plus or Pro, or you've bought report hours, your students can read their reports too.

Lessons carry on as normal, but they aren't written up until you add more hours. On any paid plan, top up from your billing page at $1.20 a report hour; top-up hours never expire and are used after your plan's hours. A lesson is only written up if your hours cover all of it, and nothing is ever added to your bill unless you choose it.

Mainly two numbers: how many hours of lessons Tuton writes up for you each month, and how many active students you can teach. A few extras sit on the bigger plans: printable lesson-plan PDFs start on Plus, and on Plus and Pro your students can read their own lesson reports. Every paid plan lets you book a 30-minute support call whenever you need one. Everything else is on every plan: the live classroom, the Space, the 850+ lesson library, your booking page, scheduling and invoicing, homework, the vocabulary tracker and the student app.

A student you're teaching now: one marked Active or Trial. New enquiries, paused students and archived students don't count, so your whole history can stay in Tuton. Archive a student and their place frees up straight away.

Upgrades take effect immediately and you're charged the prorated difference. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. Manage your subscription anytime from the billing page.

Nothing is charged, because we never asked for your card. To keep teaching on Tuton, choose a plan. If you don't, nothing is deleted: your students, lessons and notes stay in your account for when you do. Until then your booking page is hidden, your students can see their past lessons but can't book new ones, and you keep the free lesson plans, the first lesson of every library course and three free games.

Plans bought on the web are billed in US dollars at the start of each billing cycle. Yearly billing charges 10 months for 12, so 2 months are free. Cancel anytime and your access continues until the end of the paid period.

Yes. The School plan is for language schools and tutoring centres: group classes and 1:1 lessons, attendance, courses, marking against your own rubrics with AI drafts, a public school page for enrolments, and AI lesson-report hours shared across your teachers, with no student cap.
