Google Calendar and Tuton, without double bookings

Connect Google Calendar from Settings, Connected apps, and choose which calendars count as busy. Their events block your booking slots, so students can't book over them. Switch on “Show my Tuton lessons in Google” and your lessons appear in a separate Tuton calendar. If some Google events are lessons you teach, mark that calendar and match the titles to students, and Tuton turns them into lessons.

It works in both directions, and you switch each one on. Google to Tuton: your events block booking slots, and events you mark as lessons become Tuton lessons. Tuton to Google: your lessons appear in a separate Tuton calendar. If you move a Tuton lesson inside Google, the change doesn't come back, so move lessons in Tuton.

Tuton lessons reach Google within seconds. Changes in Google usually reach Tuton within a minute, and a few calendar types that Google can't send updates for are checked every 15 minutes.

Before a booking goes through, Tuton checks your lessons, pending requests, time off and the busy times in the Google calendars you chose. A time that's taken never shows as open, so students can't pick it. All-day events and events marked as free don't block anything.

For tutors, only Google Calendar connects for now, and Tuton's own calendar shows everything either way. Students can subscribe to their lessons from Apple Calendar, Outlook or Google with a private link.
