Stay in touch without leaving Tuton

Each student has one conversation thread. You open it from their profile on the web, or from the Messages tab in the iPhone app. Anything you send — text, a photo, a booking request — lands in that same thread for both of you.

Yes. The web app and the iPhone app share the same conversations. Send from your laptop and your student can read it in the Tuton app; reply from your phone and it shows on the website. Students get the app free with their tutor.

No. Messaging works in the browser on any device. The iPhone app is the companion for between lessons: unread badges, photo replies, and a push when a message arrives. Nothing is locked behind the app.

Yes. You can attach photos from the camera or the library in the iPhone app, and send files in the thread on the web. Image attachments show as pictures in the chat, not as mystery links.

On the iPhone app, yes — new messages, booking requests, lesson reminders and homework activity each have their own push, and you can turn any of them off. In the browser, unread counts sit on the conversation. Android notifications are not available yet; Android users can message in the mobile browser until the Android app ships.

WhatsApp is a separate inbox that does not know your lessons, bookings or homework. Tuton messaging is the conversation attached to that student: the booking card they accept lives in the thread, the photo of the exercise sits next to it, and the same history is on their profile. You are not chasing a personal number or a group chat that mixes work with everything else.
