Talk to students where their lessons live

Each student has one conversation thread. You open it from their profile on the web, or from the Messages tab in the iPhone app. Text, photos and files land in that same thread for both of you, and so do the booking requests students send.

Yes. The web app and the iPhone app share the same conversations. Send from your laptop and your student can read it in the Tuton app; reply from your phone and it shows on the website. Students get the app free with their tutor.

No. Messaging works in the browser on any device. The iPhone app is the companion for between lessons: unread badges, photo replies and a notification when a message arrives. Nothing is locked behind the app.

Yes. You can attach photos from the camera or the library in the iPhone app, and send files in the thread on the web. Image attachments show as pictures in the chat, not as mystery links.

Yes, once you turn notifications on, in the iPhone app or in your browser. New messages, booking requests, lesson reminders and homework activity can all send one, and you can switch messages, reminders and booking alerts off in settings. There's no Android app yet, so Android users use Tuton in the mobile browser.

WhatsApp is a separate inbox that doesn't know your lessons, bookings or homework. Tuton messaging is the conversation attached to that student: the booking request they send sits in the thread, next to the photo of the exercise, and the same history is on their profile. You're not handing out a personal number or chasing a group chat that mixes work with everything else.

Yes. Your public page has a contact form. A message sent from it adds the person to your student list as an enquiry, drops a contact card into your messages, and notifies you.
