    In the news: The story

    Read a 97-word news story: A Huge Crypto Theft—and a Strong Denial

A major breach at crypto exchange Binance was reported to have caused losses of $6.3bn. US agencies and cyber experts accuse North Korea of being behind the attack. North Korea says it did not carry out the attack and continues to deny the claim. US agencies and analysts have linked the attack to a hacking group, while North Korea says the accusation is politically motivated. Binance paused trading after the attack, then reopened it. Customers were able to withdraw more than $3.6bn in assets, and the FBI asked crypto firms to freeze transactions linked to the group.
